Siddhas, Yogis & Rishis of India

The greatest contribution of India to the world is her material and spiritual science. No civilization, however old it be, has ever attained the level of sophistication, reached by the great ancient Siddhas, Yogis and Rishis of India in material and spiritual science.

What they had was not just intelligence but intuition. They could see, hear or feel beyond the realm of the five senses. They did not need telescopes, microscope or other scientific equipments to unravel the mysteries of the cosmos. They only relied on the most powerful instrument in the world the human soul which has it in a latent sense, omniscience and omnipotence.

The earth plane was actually designed as a laboratory for the evolution of souls, so the GOD send us His reprsentatives in the form of Siddhas, Yogis and Rishis to show us the way. This great souls are in every part of the world, but particularly in India and especially in Tamil Nadu, the land of the Mystics.

In India all scientific truths are imbibed in routine life, by explaining them through Puranic Stories. Through tradition or custom, all scientific truths are brought to the stage of implementation in day-to-day life

In this Blog im Decoding the Hindu Sacred Stories, Symbols, Myth, Rituals and Worships for Today`s Modern World Scientifically. Many doubts such as the connection between the Universal Soul, the One God and myriad gods and goddesses, Hindu rituals, practices and their symbolism, the caste system and concepts such as karma, dharma and reincarnation are explained in a simplified and scientific form.

VIDYA - EDUCATION
Education, which cannot give peace to the soul or cannot give the knowledge of the Self and the inner satisfaction, is not education. Education, which cannot wipe the tears of others, known or unknown, is not education. Education is understanding the situation - leading the life that can make the life, the Life Divine, where the ultimate goal of the life is the God-Realisation.

THREE STAGES OF HUMAN EVOLUTION

- Animal to Man ( Mooladhara to Anahata )
- Man to Man ( Anahata to Ajna )
- Man to Divine ( Ajna to Sahasrara )

GOLDEN AGE / SATYUGAM
During 2012, the Sun, Earth and Karthigai star, will be in alignment resulting in more of the grace light entering the Earth plane. Thereafter, it is predicted that the Karthigai - Lord Murugan energy will be responsible for the transformation of the planet and of the genetic evolution of the human species into Gods and Goddesses status. This energy will allow humans to return to their original blueprint. The most important thing to remember about these new energies is to stay conscious and match our frequency to receieve it through proper worships, rituals, yoga and mystical knowledge according to great siddha masters.

ANCIENT SIDDHA MASTERS
The Siddhas were scientists, particularly in their investigations into chemistry, astronomy, plants, human anatomy and physiology. They applied their extraordinary powers, developed through intensive yogis practices, to research these areas on atomic and universal levels without the use of sophisticated equipment. In the long linege of Siddhas, one does not know when they came into earth's existance. Whether they still exist or are they Ascended masters teaching humanity the various sciences and philosophy, will perhaps, be never known.

SIDDHAS TEACHINGS
In the teachings of the Siddhas the human body is a temple of God. Man is a miniature representation of Paramatma or Supreme Intelligence. The purpose of life is to realize God.To manifest that realization in all planes of existence.

SIDDHAS MEDICINE
Using special salts as well as herbal formulae the Siddhas developed the unique science of rejuvenation, known as "kaya kalpa", which allowed them to prolong their lives until the long term effects of Kriya Kundalini Pranayama and similar yogic practices could complete the process of transformation, bringing about physical immortality.

Siddhas followed the ancient Guru- disciple apprenticeship method. They revealed their secrets to those students whom they felt could be trusted not to misuse the science. The science of Kaya kalpa was limited to those great sages. who were prepared for the uplifting of humanity. Ayurveda came much later as discipline.

SIDDHAS SECRET KNOWLEDGE
The Siddhas had vast knowledge of human anatomy. Their single-minded concentration was unique. It was was achieved with perfection. Their literature on medicine was extensive. The Siddhas were a close-knit community and preferred to preserve their knowledge. They reduced this knowledge to codes and symbols and their literature was steeped in mysticism. Only a Siddha can decode the writings of a Siddha. A beginner could not gain any appreciable knowledge without the Siddha accepting him as a student.

THE SCIENCE OF YOGA
Siddhas such as Thirumoolar, Agastyar, Boganathar, and many more had realized their capacity for experiencing and manifesting the Divine. This was not only limited to the spiritual plane of existence. The Cosmic Spirit would descend into the more lower and gross planes of consciousness, the intellectual, mental, and physical bodies. This for us is a limiting thought as our yogic parasites are not as intense as the Siddha. With progressive surrender of their being , their ego and their very lives the Divine would indeed transform them. With intense practices of various Kriyas, hatha and bhakti yoga, meditation, mantras and Kriya Kundalini Pranayama they merged with the Cosmic Spirit . This was race against time as the natural breakdown of cells, catabolism, had to be reversed to anabolism to prolong the extent of their age. They had to complete the Divine transformation. With Kriya Kundalini yoga and using specific herbal and mineral salts they were able to prolong their youth for the Ultimate transformation.

SIDDHANTHAM
The Universe was created out of a Cosmic Thought . No civilization be it the Inca, Atlantis or Egyptian had such a precise knowledge as the Siddhas. They were proficient in the science of longevity or deathless state, alchemy, medicine and physics.

Significance of Deepavali ~ by Vijayakumar Alagappan #www.iksacademy.com #Siddha Science & Art of Living

The first day of Deepavali 2Ø18 falls on 7th November, Wednesday. Deepavali is a festival where people from all age groups participate. They give expression to their happiness by lighting clay lamps, decorating the houses, bursting crackers, inviting near and dear ones to their households for partaking in a sumptuous feast and exchanging sweets.

During Deepavali day Sun enters Thulam (Libra) which is represented by the balance or scale. Hence, this design of Thulam is said to have suggested the balancing of account books and their closing. So the business community in India especially in South India regarded as the most auspicious day to start their bussiness accounts on this day. During Deepavali there are also other astrologically significant configurations that make it prime time for evil forces to attack since Aipasi month is the darkest month of the year. That is why it is also a time when the Goddess Lakshmi and Her marshals come to the earth plane to help us with the battle the army of light.

Hence on this day Goddess Lakshmi and Kubera is worshipped to protect us from poverty the evil forces. Goddess Lakshmi would be in her benevolent mood and fulfill the wishes of her devotees because it was on this day the Ammavasai / New Moon day she emerged from Pal Kadal (Ocean of Milk), when the Gods and demons were churning the sagara (ocean) for nectar (Amirtha). Lakshmi Pooja is performed in the evenings when tiny clay lamps are lit to drive away the shadows of evil forces.

The greatness of Aippasi month and Goddess Laksmi : There are four important time in a year according to South Indian Lunar calendar. Thai month(mid Jan to mid Feb), Chitra month(mid April to mid May), Aadi month(mid July to mid Aug) and Aippasi month(mid Oct to mid Nov) are the most important months in a year according Siddha tradition. Among the four important months, Aippasi is the most important month since it is the month where we will be aligned directly to Goddess Lakshmi's world and the Lunar Calender Year begin (on Aippasi Amavasai).

Video in Tamil on Science of Deepavali

Goddess Lakshmi is the deity of wealth, but Kubera is the treasurer. Some people possess the art of earning money but do not know how to save it. However, saving money and spending it appropriately is far more important than earning it. Since most people do not know how to spend money properly, their spending is unwarranted and ultimately, and they become bankrupt. Kubera is the deity Who teaches the art of saving money as He Himself is the treasurer. Therefore, in this ritual, the worship of Lakshmi and Kubera has been recommended. Though all people celebrate this festival, the business community in particular does so with great enthusiasm and splendor. Remember poverty is also a demon (evil force).

Even Lord Balaji or Venkateswara at Thirupathi is said to have Borrowed money form Kubera for his marrige and he is still paying the interest on the loan amount.

Kubera (God of Wealth)

Kubera is regarded as the god of wealth, in Hindu mythology. Lord Kubera is also known as the god of yakshas (savage beings). Kubera is always remembered with the goddess of fortune, Lakshmi. Chanting of Kubera Mantra blesses the worshipper with money and prosperity by drawing new avenues and sources of income and wealth. Mantra of Kubera helps to increase the flow of funds and the ability to accumulate wealth.

-It is composed of bija mantras, rough meanings: Shreem for Lakshmi (love, beauty, health, prosperity), Hreem for Great God/Sun (illumination/dispel illusion), kleem for Kama/Krishna (love and fulfiller of desires from material to moksha, where your intention is) and Vitteswaraay (Kubera)

Sri Lakshmi Kubera Mantra :
Om Shreem Hreem Aim Kubera Lakshmiai Kamaladharinyai Dhana Akrashinyai Swaaha

The celebration of Deepavali proceeds as follows:

- On Deepavali neatness is important. Every house should be cleaned and walls are coulered, decorated with flowers and leaves specially mango leaves. Clay lamp is lighted in night to welcome Gods and Goddess the army of lights to destroy evil forces which can bring poverty. On Depavali eve midnight one should sweep the house with new broom, accumulate the garbage in a dustbin and throw it out. This is called 'driving off' of alakshmi (garbage - poverty). Remember sweeping/vacuuming the house and throwing the garbage out at night is forbidden on other days.

-One should wake up early in the morning and take an oil bath. On the day of Deepavali new moon(amavasai) sesamee oil(nallanai) is very important. On these day goddess Lakshmi lives in sesame oil and goddess Ganga lives in warm water. This bath removes bad luck and attract prosperity. After the bath, wear new dress and jewels.

Miracles of Oil Bath - Yennai Kuliyal (Tamil)

- After an auspicious bath at dawn. One should do Tarpanam for their ancestors (3 to 5 hours after the oil bath, preferably in the noon). You can put Moksha Villaku (lamp) at Sivan temple or do Tarpanam yourself at home since Deepavali will always fall on Amavasai ( New Moon ).

Lord Kubera is the Banker of Heaven and Goddess Lakshmi, the Goddess of riches. The double power of these 2 archetypes will give you everything in plenty on worshipping them on the day of Deepavali!

The Secret of Why We Light Lamp (deepam)

- The Gods and Goddess will personally become present in the jothi for you when you light lamp in your house. This is the secret behind lamp jothi worship. The lamp jothis also have the power to neutralize negative forces since they bring the divine inside your house. They are a simple way of marshaling the divine force to drive away the negative forces from your house.

- The departed soul (ancestral beings with great spiritual power who are responsible for the spiritual welfare of those souls that are part of their blood lines) also can make themselves present in the lamp jothi. When the pithrus are present in your house, they will bless you with contentment and peace of mind. Wherever they go, they bring goodwill and peace with them.

Aippasi month is also known as ‘Tulam’ month since the Sun traverses in Tulam rasi (Libra sign) during this month. In tantric astrology the owner of Thulam rasi house is planet Venus and the overlord of planet Venus is Goddess Lakshmi. These is the very reason why Deepavali always falls in the month of Aippasi on Amavasai day and we were told by our elders to worship Goddess Lakshmi on this day. Ammavasai is a new moon day means the starting of goddesses' energies ever increase and on this day in Aippasi month Goddess Lakshmi will descend to our earth plane with her marshals to restore prosperity for us.

What kind of lamp, oil and wick to use ?
Earthen lamps and lamps made out of brass, bronze, copper, silver or gold are the ones that are ideal for lamp jothi worship. To start with, light your lamp jothis using sesame oil and wicks made out of cotton. First pour the oil in the lamp and then place the wick in it.

How to cool the Lamp?
The Siddhas insist that the spiritual aspirant must never allow the oil to run out in the lamp. Always ensure that there is enough oil in the lamp for the jothi. When you think it's time to cool the jothi, drag the wick by its tail portion into the oil while saying Om Santha Svaroopine Namaha. This is the proper procedure for cooling the lamp.

Mytology related to Deepavali

The Vanquishing of the demon Naraka by Lord Krishna’s wife Sathyabhama.
Naraka, son of Bhudevi, acquired immense power from a blessing given by Lord Brahma after a severe penance. Narakasura ruled the kingdom of Pradyoshapuram. Under his rule, the villagers suffered a lot of hardship as the demon tortured the people and kidnapped the women to be imprisoned in his palace with his invincible might. Unable to bear the tyranny of the demon, the celestial beings pleaded with Lord Krishna to save them from his torture. But Naraka had a boon that he would face death only at the hands of his mother Bhudevi. So, Krishna asks his wife Sathyabhama, the reincarnation of Bhudevi, to be his charioteer in the battle with Naraka.

When Krishna fell unconscious after being hit by an arrow of Naraka, Sathyabhama takes the bow and aims the arrow at Naraka, killing him instantly. Later Lord Krishna reminds her of the boon she had sought as Bhudevi.

One, who worships lord Kubera and Lakshmi, can never fall short of money and material comforts... Hmmm / Om Sri Lakshmi Kuberaya Pothri

View Image

The earth passes almost directly between the Sun and jupiter that whirls through on its orbit, at a speed of about 3ØØ,ØØØ miles per hour, once in about thirteen months. While the earth takes one year to go round the Sun, Jupiter takes about twelve years.

Jupiter confers both material and spiritual expansion. As a planet of growth, many favourable significations like prosperity, learning and aquisition of name and fame are attributed to it. Jupiter is the greatest benefic in the astrological hierarchy ( 13ØØ earths can be fit into Jupiter ) & his transit is indeed very important to the astrological fraternity.  As he is the planet of Wealth, his transits can make or break you. Guru Peyarchi is happening on Thursday Octber 11th, 2Ø18 23.Ø9m (MST) as per Thiru Kanidha Panchangam. Jupiter will move from Tulam (Libra) to Vrischikam (Scorpio) and stay there untill November 5,2Ø19 10.33 pm (IST). There would always be little time difference between panchangam like Thiru Kanidha Panchangam and Vakya Panchangam).

Jupiter transit is aupicious in 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th, while Mixed in the 1st, 4th and 1Øth and the rest 3rd, 6th, 8th, 12 places are fully Inauspicious.

Significance of Navarathiri - October 1Øth to October 19th, 2Ø18

Navarathiri - The Nine Nights of Goddesses Celebration

During Navathiri the divine nine nights, the supreme female cosmic power or Goddess Shakti is worshiped in her variously manifested forms as Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswathi. Navrathiri is an occasion to perform and observe the spiritual practices for awakening the Shakti / Energy within you. This year Navarathiri begins from September 1st to September 30th, 2017.
The Sanskrit term 'Shakti' means 'power'. There is a supreme power behind this universe that is expressed in many varied ways. Heat, light, lightning - all these are expressions of just that power. Shakti is the creator of the universe. The universe is her form. She is the foundation of the world and forms of the body. Shakti is the form of all things that live and move in the world. Goddess energy or Shakti is the ever present dynamic force which activates this world. It is immanent in every being and the Universe. Goddesses are revered and celebrated so that they bless us with both material and spiritual abundance.

Science of Navarathiri : During Navarathiri billions of tons of pranic energy / shakti will be projected into our Earth plane to get infuse into tectonic plates, then later it will bubble out through certain crystaline overlay grid points called vortexes and it is an incredible energy. In ancient time the brilliant Siddha masters has guided the Kings at South India to erect the Goddesses temples like Madurai Meenakshi Amman, Kanchi Kamatchi, etc. on such vortexes so that we can energize ourself by visiting and conducting certain rituals for general well being. If you know how to connect the Goddesses in those temples during Navarathiri or just by being conscious with these phenomenon then you can connect with - Goddess Kali who compresses time, so that manifestations can be instantaneous in your life; Goddess Lakshmi who provides wealth through health; and Goddess Saraswati who grants wisdom for art of living. Chant "Na Ma Shi Va Ya" for 108 times before Sun rise by facing East direction and "Aim Shreem Kleem Hreem" for 108 times during Sun set by facing north direction to attune yourself and access the Navarathiri energies. When we repeatedly utter a Mantra we are tuning to a particular frequency and this frequency establishes a contact with the cosmic energy and drags it into our body and surroundings. Aim(Saraswathi) Shreem(Lakshmi) Kleem(Parvathi) Hreem(Durga) ~ Vijayakumar Alagappan www.iksacademy.com

Navarathiri Mythology : The great legend of Navarathiri dates back to the story of Mahishasura, the mighty demon, who worshipped Lord Shiva and obtained invincible powers. Soon, he started killing the innocent lives on earth and set out to win the seven lokams. He acquired the swargalokam. Nobody could save the living creatures from his tyranny.
Even the three mighty gods of the Hindu Trinity -Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva were unable to defeat him. Therefore, all the Gods, including the Hindu Trinity, united their supreme powers and created a divine being called Durga, the Warrior Goddess.

With all the accumulated power and the weapons given by the Gods, Goddess Durga set her trail to defeat Mahishasura. To accomplish the task, she entered a war with him, which extended for nine long days! After fighting hard with him for nine days, Goddess Durga finally killed Mahishasura on the tenth day. Consequently, she lifted the tyranny of the demon off the innocent lives on earth and restored the swargalokam to the devas (Gods). Therefore, Navarathiri is celebrated to commemorate her victory over the demon, which symbolizes the victory of the good over the evil. The Nine Nights of Navarathiri symbolize the nine nights of the war between Goddess Durga and Mahishasura.
Celebrating Navarathiri : The beginning of spring and the beginning of autumn are two very important junctions of climatic and solar influence. These two periods are taken as sacred opportunities for the worship of the Divine Mother. The dates of the festival are determined according to the lunar calendar.
On all these 9 days, the various forms of Mother Mahisasura-Mardini (Durga) are worshipped with great fervor and devotion.

First three days
The goddess is invoked as a spiritual force called Durga also known as Kali in order to destroy all our impurities (emotions and thoughts).
Second three days
The Mother is adored as a giver of spiritual wealth, Lakshmi, who is considered to have the power of bestowing on her devotees inexhaustible wealth, as she is the goddess of wealth (wealth through health).
Final three days
The final set of three days is spent in worshipping the goddess of wisdom, Saraswathi.

In order to have all round success in life, believers seek the blessings of all three aspects of the divine femininity, hence the nine nights of worship (creativity for the 64 art of living).

In South India, Saraswathi pooja is performed on the 7th day. Eight day is traditionally Durgashtami which is big in Bengal. The 9th day is Ayudha Pooja when everyone gives their tools of the trade — pens, machinery, books, automobiles, school work, etc. a rest and ritually worships them. They start a fresh from the next day, the 10th day which is considered as ‘Vijaya Dashami’. On this tenth day of Navarathiri in October – the holiday of Dussehra or Dasara, an effigy of Ravana is burnt to celebrate the victory of good (Rama) over evil.

During Navarathiri, some devotees of Durga observe a fast and prayers are offered for the protection of health and prosperity. A period of introspection and purification, Navarathiri is traditionally an auspicious and religious time for starting new ventures.

Not many people have the grace to perform true Shakti worship. Shakti has manifested in various forms like Durga, Kali, Lakshmi, Saraswati and so on. Shakti represents 3 potencies and they are Itcha Shakti, Kriya Shakti and Jnana Shakti.

Navarathiri is celebrated in a large number of Indian communities. The mother goddess is said to appear in 9 forms, and each one is worshipped for a day. These nine forms signify various traits that the goddess influences us with. The Devi Mahatmya and other texts invoking the Goddess who vanquished demons are cited.

Significance of Navarathiri : The Goddess, who is the invisible divine feminine, lives both in the human male and the female. Within the human body, the Goddess’ energy is called the power (Shakti); she is the power of economy, beauty, luxury, joy, physical strength, fertility, and what not! Everything that is beautiful, everything luxurious, and everything that makes you happy and blissful are provided by the Goddess. But, unfortunately, we have not learnt how we can access this archetypal feminine energy called the Mother Divine, which is within us. You can do so by observing prayers and rituals during Navarathiri nights.

Siddha's Secret techniques : The yogis and tantrics developed secretive methodologies to access the divine feminine both within the body-mind of human men and women. They came up with the sacred diagrams called Yantras and the magical sounds known as Mantras, as tools to bring the Goddesses to the earth plane.

Yantra

Maha Meru : The Maha Meru is the three dimensional form of the Sri Chakra, the cosmic symbol of the Divine Feminine energy. For anyone who wants to win Mother Divine, even a saint or siddha, has to go through the Maha Meru. You need to be able to access the Maha Meru's energy.  This figure represents all of the secrets and mysteries of the universe. The Meru is the concentrated form of a million Goddesses' energy in one sacred form, which transmits energies for prosperity and good fortune.  Maha meru not only blesses you with wealth but also energizes you to get rid of all the misfortunes and obstacles in your life. The Meru's secrets are mostly hidden even to the ardent of students. You may learn the secrets from your Guru.

( The renowned American physicist Dr. Patrick Flanagan calls the Sri Chakra the 'king of power diagrams' and describes its energetic effect as seventy times greater than that of a pyramid construction. This means that a three centimetre Sri Chakra possesses a greater energetic effect than a two meterpyramid. The Sri Chakra's extraordinary energetic power depends upon its exact geometry. This complex geometry is the key to its effect and has interesting mathematical implications. )

Mantra

Mantras to invoke Shakti : When we repeatedly utter a Mantra we are tuning to a particular frequency and this frequency establishes a contact with the cosmic energy and drags it into our body and surroundings. Thus we can balance the energies and also increase the level of a certain type of energy, which promote certain actions and events. "Hmmm / Om Aim Kleem Shreem Hreem Namaha" or Aim Shreem Kleem are the mantras which can attract Goddesses energy for our all round success in our material  life.

Rahu Kaalam, Gulikai Kalam and Yama Gandam Kalam

When and How to observe ?
Rahu Kalam

Rahu Kalam comes daily where in South India it is carefully monitored. In all Muhurtams (auspicious time for particular functions), Rahu-Kalam is, by and large avoided. Apparently every body wants to escape the unfortunate happenings, whether during the function or even thereafter. Auspicious time selected goes a long way in conferring the needed happiness and prosperity.
Muhurutam or the selection of auspicious moment can neutralize to a certain extent the afflictions existing at the specific time (meant for an event). In other words, it is stated that if marital happiness is not depicted in the birth chart, the Muhurtam may not be in a position to confer on the native expected marital harmony, but it ould definitely reduce the sources of friction to a great extent. Apart from selection of Tithi(date), Vara(day), Nakshtram(constellation), Yogam and Karnam, the selection of a particular moment is important. One method of selecting the auspicious moment is with reference to the Hora of the day (each day is divided into 24 Horas) and the other is with reference to the rising lagna. In-between the selection of auspicious time, comes the Rahu-Kalam, which is normally advised to be be avoided. Rahu-Kalam is determined with reference to the time of Sunrise say 6.ØØ A.M. (for Indian Standard Time) Rahu-Kalam would be ruling the following hours of the day as indicated below:

Rahu kalam is supposed to be a bad time to do anything auspicious or even for starting something new.

Rahu Kalam

- Monday 7.3Ø a.m. - 9.ØØ a.m.

- Friday 1Ø.3Ø a.m. - 12.ØØ p.m.
- Saturday 9.ØØ a.m. - 1Ø.3Ø a.m.

Gulikai Kalam

Gulika is also called Mandi i.e. the son of Mandam alias Shani). His rising period is not auspicious. Not only that, the Rasi where it stands is not also used for auspicious functions. He rises twice a day – once during day and again at night. However, inauspicious time is given as 1 ½ hours every day, starting from Saturday (being the son of Saturn) 6 a.m. to 7.3Ø a.m.; reckon backwards then i.e. Friday, 7.3Ø to 9.ØØ p.m., and Thursday 9.ØØ a.m. to 1Ø.3Ø a.m. (determined with reference to the time of Sunrise say 6.ØØ A.M).

Friday 7.3Ø a.m. - 9 a.m.
Saturday 6 a.m. - 7.3Ø a.m.

Yamagandam Kalam

Yamagandam is the son of Guru and he is also considered inauspicious and rising period starts from 6.ØØ a.m. to 7.3Ø a.m. on Thursday, and going backwards i.e. on Wednesday 7.3Ø a.m. to 9.ØØ a.m. etc. (determined with reference to the time of Sunrise say 6.ØØ A.M).

Thursday 6 a.m. - 7.3Ø a.m.
Friday 3 p.m. - 4.3Ø p.m.
Saturday 1.3Ø p.m. - 3 p.m.

Rahu Kalam and Yama Gandam are always considered inauspicious while Gulikai though not that inauspicious, is not again treated specially auspicous as there are times of auspiciousness for each day of a year and it is generally avoided for removing human bodies after departure of the soul , for cremation / burial.

( Malaysia and Singapore Sunrise at 6.3Ø a.m. )
