Siddhas, Yogis & Rishis of India

The greatest contribution of India to the world is her material and spiritual science. No civilization, however old it be, has ever attained the level of sophistication, reached by the great ancient Siddhas, Yogis and Rishis of India in material and spiritual science.

What they had was not just intelligence but intuition. They could see, hear or feel beyond the realm of the five senses. They did not need telescopes, microscope or other scientific equipments to unravel the mysteries of the cosmos. They only relied on the most powerful instrument in the world the human soul which has it in a latent sense, omniscience and omnipotence.

The earth plane was actually designed as a laboratory for the evolution of souls, so the GOD send us His reprsentatives in the form of Siddhas, Yogis and Rishis to show us the way. This great souls are in every part of the world, but particularly in India and especially in Tamil Nadu, the land of the Mystics.

In India all scientific truths are imbibed in routine life, by explaining them through Puranic Stories. Through tradition or custom, all scientific truths are brought to the stage of implementation in day-to-day life

In this Blog im Decoding the Hindu Sacred Stories, Symbols, Myth, Rituals and Worships for Today`s Modern World Scientifically. Many doubts such as the connection between the Universal Soul, the One God and myriad gods and goddesses, Hindu rituals, practices and their symbolism, the caste system and concepts such as karma, dharma and reincarnation are explained in a simplified and scientific form.

VIDYA - EDUCATION
Education, which cannot give peace to the soul or cannot give the knowledge of the Self and the inner satisfaction, is not education. Education, which cannot wipe the tears of others, known or unknown, is not education. Education is understanding the situation - leading the life that can make the life, the Life Divine, where the ultimate goal of the life is the God-Realisation.

THREE STAGES OF HUMAN EVOLUTION

- Animal to Man ( Mooladhara to Anahata )
- Man to Man ( Anahata to Ajna )
- Man to Divine ( Ajna to Sahasrara )

GOLDEN AGE / SATYUGAM
During 2012, the Sun, Earth and Karthigai star, will be in alignment resulting in more of the grace light entering the Earth plane. Thereafter, it is predicted that the Karthigai - Lord Murugan energy will be responsible for the transformation of the planet and of the genetic evolution of the human species into Gods and Goddesses status. This energy will allow humans to return to their original blueprint. The most important thing to remember about these new energies is to stay conscious and match our frequency to receieve it through proper worships, rituals, yoga and mystical knowledge according to great siddha masters.

ANCIENT SIDDHA MASTERS
The Siddhas were scientists, particularly in their investigations into chemistry, astronomy, plants, human anatomy and physiology. They applied their extraordinary powers, developed through intensive yogis practices, to research these areas on atomic and universal levels without the use of sophisticated equipment. In the long linege of Siddhas, one does not know when they came into earth's existance. Whether they still exist or are they Ascended masters teaching humanity the various sciences and philosophy, will perhaps, be never known.

SIDDHAS TEACHINGS
In the teachings of the Siddhas the human body is a temple of God. Man is a miniature representation of Paramatma or Supreme Intelligence. The purpose of life is to realize God.To manifest that realization in all planes of existence.

SIDDHAS MEDICINE
Using special salts as well as herbal formulae the Siddhas developed the unique science of rejuvenation, known as "kaya kalpa", which allowed them to prolong their lives until the long term effects of Kriya Kundalini Pranayama and similar yogic practices could complete the process of transformation, bringing about physical immortality.

Siddhas followed the ancient Guru- disciple apprenticeship method. They revealed their secrets to those students whom they felt could be trusted not to misuse the science. The science of Kaya kalpa was limited to those great sages. who were prepared for the uplifting of humanity. Ayurveda came much later as discipline.

SIDDHAS SECRET KNOWLEDGE
The Siddhas had vast knowledge of human anatomy. Their single-minded concentration was unique. It was was achieved with perfection. Their literature on medicine was extensive. The Siddhas were a close-knit community and preferred to preserve their knowledge. They reduced this knowledge to codes and symbols and their literature was steeped in mysticism. Only a Siddha can decode the writings of a Siddha. A beginner could not gain any appreciable knowledge without the Siddha accepting him as a student.

THE SCIENCE OF YOGA
Siddhas such as Thirumoolar, Agastyar, Boganathar, and many more had realized their capacity for experiencing and manifesting the Divine. This was not only limited to the spiritual plane of existence. The Cosmic Spirit would descend into the more lower and gross planes of consciousness, the intellectual, mental, and physical bodies. This for us is a limiting thought as our yogic parasites are not as intense as the Siddha. With progressive surrender of their being , their ego and their very lives the Divine would indeed transform them. With intense practices of various Kriyas, hatha and bhakti yoga, meditation, mantras and Kriya Kundalini Pranayama they merged with the Cosmic Spirit . This was race against time as the natural breakdown of cells, catabolism, had to be reversed to anabolism to prolong the extent of their age. They had to complete the Divine transformation. With Kriya Kundalini yoga and using specific herbal and mineral salts they were able to prolong their youth for the Ultimate transformation.

SIDDHANTHAM
The Universe was created out of a Cosmic Thought . No civilization be it the Inca, Atlantis or Egyptian had such a precise knowledge as the Siddhas. They were proficient in the science of longevity or deathless state, alchemy, medicine and physics.

Surya Namaskaram - Sun Salutation

SURYA NAMASKARAM
the true science and art of living

As per the scriptures one who performs the Surya Namaskaram daily does not get poor in a thousand births

Introduction
Surya Namaskaram is a well known vital technique within the yogic repertoire. Its versatility and application make in one of the most useful methods to induce a healthy, vigorous and active life. Surya Namaskaram is almost a complete sadhana in itself, containing asana, pranayama and meditational techniques within the main structure of the practice.

Surya Namaskaram is a series of 12 physical postures. These alternating backward and forward bending asanas flex and stretch the spinal column and limbs through their maximum range. The series gives such a profound stretch to the whole of the body that few other forms of exercise can be compared with it.

The 12 postures of Surya Namaskaram

1. Pranamasana (Prayer pose) – exhale

2. Hasta Uttanasana (Raised arm pose) – inhale

3. Padahastasana (Hand to foot pose) – exhale

4. Ashwa Sanchalanasana (Equestrian pose) – inhale

5. Parvatasana (Mountain pose) – exhale

6. Ashtanga Namaskaram (Salution with eight limbs) – retain

7. Bhujanngasana (Serpent pose) – inhale

8. Parvatasana (Mountain pose) – exhale

9. Ashwa Sanchalanasana (Equestrian pose) – inhale

10. Padahastasana (Hand to foot pose) – exhale

11. Hasta Uttanasana (raised arms pose) – inhale

12. Pranamasana (Prayer pose) – exhale

Note:

This constitutes half a round of Surya Namaskaram. To complete the other half, the same movements are performed, the only variation being that the left leg is brought back in position (4), and the right leg moved forward in position (9). So, one full round consists of 24 movements, 2 sets of 12, giving a balance to each side of the body in each half round. When position 12 is completed, inhale while lowering the hands to the side of the body and then commence the second half of the practice with exhalation.

When and Where to Practice
1. The ideal time to practise Surya Namaskaram is at Sunrise, the most peaceful time of the day, when the atmosphere is full of the Sun’s ultraviolet rays, which is important for the body.

2. Make a habit of rising early, answering the call of nature, taking a bath and practising Surya Namaskaram.

3. Whenever possible, practise in the open air, wearing light and loose clothing to allow the skin to breath and absorb the Sun’s energy.

4. Surya Namaskaram is ideally practised facing sunrise on a blanket spread over the floor or ground.

5. If it is not possible in the early morning, then practise can be done at any convenient time, provided the stomach is empty.

6. No food should be taken for at least three to four hours beforehand.

Limitations
1. There are no limitations as far as age is concerned.

2. Surya Namaskaram should not be practised by people with high blood pressure, coronary artery disease or those who have had stroke, hernia or intestinal tuberculosis.

3. People with spinal problems should consult a medical expert before commencing Surya Namaskaram.

4. Most women can benefit by practising Surya Namaskaram even during menstruation. However, those with heavy or painful periods may feel, as a precaution not to practise at that time.

Shavasana
1. Shavasana, the yogic pose of relaxation, should be practised with breath awareness after completing Surya Namaskaram.

2. The relaxation period following Surya Namaskaram is an important part of the practise as it allows the body time for readjustment and removal of any toxins which have been released into the bloodstream during the practise.

3. The period of relaxation should last at least until the practitioner can feel that his heartbeat and breath have returned to normal and all tension has been released from the muscles.

Lord Sun is also Hanuman's Guru

Hanuman sought to educate himself and for this purpose he chose Surya the sun god as his guru saying: "You see everything there is to see in the universe and you know everything there is to know. Please accept me as your pupil." Surya hesitated. "I don't have the time," he said. "During the day I ride across the sky, and at night I am too tired to do anything."

"Then teach me as you ride across the sky during the day. I will fly in front of your chariot, facing you from dawn to dusk." Impressed by Hanuman's zeal and determination, Surya accepted him as his pupil. Thus Hanuman flew before the chariot of the sun god, withstanding the awesome glare, until he became well versed in the four books of knowledge (the Vedas), the six systems of philosophies (darshanas), the sixty-four arts or kalas and the one hundred and eight occult mysteries of the Tantras.

Note :
Dont try to learn by yourself. There are other mystical techniques and sciences are hidden with in Surya Namaskaram. A lesson without a teacher is merely rubbish. Learn Surya Namaskaram from a competent Yoga teacher and it will only take 2 - 3 months to learn. May Lord Sun bless you with health, wealth, prosperity and enlightenment to the extreme. "Hmmm Suryaye Namaha".

Ani Thirumanjanam on 4th July 2014

Ani Thirumanjanam ( Tamil month spanning June-July) is a special day ( Uthiram Nakshtram) when an Abhishekam is performed for Lord Nadaraja. After this, the days get shorter and the nights get longer.
It is believed that Lord Nadaraja gives darshan to his devotees in the months Ani and Margazhi. It was on Ani Uthiram, under a kurundai tree, that the Lord offered upadesam to Sage Manikkavachakar the writer of the famous Thiruvachakam. Legends have it that during the abhishekam to the Lord, as everyone watched, the sage merged in the Lord as a brilliant flame. At Chidambaram the event began with the Nadaraja Vigraham being brought out from the sanctum sanctorum in a Chariot and taken in a procession around the temple.The word "Thiru manjanam" means Holy bath. Performing these Abishegam will help you to remove the bad effects of karma in life and to receive the blessings for life.

Lord Nadaraja - Divine Cosmic Dancer
Lord Shiva is the source of all movement within the cosmos, who is represented by the arch of flames. The Lord Nadaraja's form demonstrates his five-fold functions: creation, preservation, destruction, concealment and salvation. The rattle (udukkai) in his right hand represents creation; his raised right arm with the open palm (abhaya hastam) protection; his left hand holding fire destruction; his firmly placed foot concealment; and his other, slightly lifted, leg salvation.

Abishekams for Nadaraja
On the auspicious days of Nadaraja Abishekam, one can access the higher level vibrations of Lord Shiva’s consciousness. Lord Nadaraja is given six abhishekams in a year. Earth takes 365 days to complete one full circle around the sun. That duration is divided into six seasons - Marghazhi-Thai: early winter; Maasi-Panguni: late winter; Chittirai-Vaikasi: early summer; Ani-Aadi: high summer; Avani-Purattasi: autumn; Aippasi-Karthikai: rainy season.This six-season year of humans is said to be one day for the immortals. A day has six periods: dawn, morning, noon, afternoon, evening, and night. These are when the six daily poojas ( Kaala Pooja) in temples are performed. During each of these six parts, an Abhishekam has been ordained for Lord Nadaraja. One of these is Ani Thirumanjanam, the pradosha abhishekam on the evening of the day of Uthiram Nakshatram in the Tamil month of Aani (June-July). This is an occasion to minimize all the bad effects of your karma by impressing the divine Cosmic Dancer.
